Have you ever considered having a house plant but worry that you won't be able to keep it alive? Good news, there are a variety of house plants which do not require much work and even if you have a difficult time keeping plants alive, these low-maintenance options should survive in your home.
Succulents. Succulents require very little water, so you don't have to worry about checking on them every day. Keep them in indirect sunlight to help them thrive.
Lucky bamboo. This plant does not require a lot of light, which makes it good for rooms you keep dark (such as your bedroom). It does not even require soil, the roots will sufficiently grow in water.
Snake plant. Another plant which does not require a lot of light. However, this plant also requires much less water. If it is overwatered it will die.
Pothos. A leafy plant which will survive in almost any condition, this plant requires very little water and can be cloned by pruning leaves and placing them in water.
Spider plant. Another leafy plant which can be cloned. However, you must wait for the plant to form babies with roots to reproduce this plant.
Jade plant. Slightly more complicated than others on this list because of watering sensitivity. Jade plants need lots of sun and not too much water. Allow the soil to dry before watering, but don't let it sit dry for too long, and don't overwater this plant.
Cast iron plant. This plant does not require a lot of light or water. It doesn't matter if you forget to water this plant for days, and does best in conditions where the soil is able to dry completely between watering.
If you are interested in getting a house plant, but haven't been able to decide which would work the best with your lifestyle, hopefully this list has been helpful and given you more insight into which plants will fit into your home and lifestyle with a minimum amount of thought and effort on your behalf.
