I know this is a topic we have touched on a few times, but it bears repeating. If you have house plats in your home, you will have natural air filters. For someone like me (an asthmatic) this is extremely valuable.
Having clean air in your home is also valuable because it can help prevent you from becoming seriously ill. A problem with some modern homes today is that they are insulated too well, and a lot of toxins and harmful chemicals get stuck in your home and you breathe them in every day.
You can purchase electric air filters and have to purchase new filters for them and use electricity to run them. Or you can buy house plants which will naturally filter the air in your home and add an appealing look to your home. Another benefit of house plants is that they do not create any noise which you have listen to all day.
Succulents, indoor flowers (such as orchids), bonsai trees, and other leafy indoor plants naturally filter the air and can be added to virtually any room in your home. Added bonus, being exposed to natural elements (such as living plants) is good for your mental health. They can reduce depression and stress levels.
There are many varieties to choose from, and they vary in the amount of care they need. Some plants are very finnicky and can be difficult to keep alive. Others require very little other than occasional water and sunlight.
Depending on your aesthetic preferences and your ability to meet the needs of each plant (orchids probably will not do very well in either extremely hot or cold environments, for example) you can select the perfect house plant for you. If you are like me, you might select a variety and have different options for each room.
