Glass jars are one item which can be recycled, but like most recyclable products, can be reused for better results.
You can clean them using the same method we used to clean wine bottles for other uses. Once you have cleaned them, there is still the question of what to do with them. Here are a few ideas:
Make Candles
Glass jars are perfect for containers for homemade candles.
Organize Your Kitchen
Use leftover glass jars to organize your kitchen. You can use them for spices, dry beans, rice, pasta, or pretty much anything. Using chalk board paint will help you label your containers and is easy to modify when you put something else in your containers.
Organize Your Bathroom
In the same way you can organize your kitchen cupboards, you can also organize your bathroom space by using jars to hold cotton balls, Q-tips, oils, etc.
Build a Terrarium
Place pebbles or tree bark in a jar and use it for a home for your succulents. You will also benefit from the air-cleaning properties of the plants.
Make a Pin Cushion
Use the top of a glass container to make a pin cushion using some cloth and pillow stuffing. You can store spools of thread, buttons, or any other item you prefer inside of the container and have the top be additional storage for pins and needles.
Pack a Lunch
Use glass jars to make a salad or other layered food to take on-the-go.
Home Décor
You can decorate them in any way you can imagine: paint, ribbons, etc. They can be used as vases once they have been decorated as well, or just leave as is.
